A Brisbane vasectomy service has relocated from The Gap to a dedicated medical suite on Given Terrace in Paddington, bringing its consultations and procedures into a single-speciality setting.
Vasectomy Clinic Brisbane is now operating from Shop 1, 183 Given Terrace after leaving its former Glen Affric Street premises. The clinic forms part of the Vasectomy Australia network, which says it operates across 41 locations nationally. Clinical assessments, consultations and vasectomy procedures are continuing at the new site under Dr Matthew Valentine, who has been performing vasectomies in Brisbane since 2008.
Dedicated Suite Replaces Former Clinic Setting
The Paddington premises have been set up specifically for outpatient procedures rather than operating within a broader multidisciplinary general practice. Vasectomy Australia said the new rooms were intended to provide greater privacy and a more focused clinical environment, with ground-floor access, public transport connections and options for post-procedure patient collection.
The clinic continues to perform no-scalpel vasectomies under local anaesthetic. Vasectomy Clinic Brisbane says the technique does not involve a conventional scalpel incision and does not require stitches. Patients can book directly with the clinic, while referrals from general practitioners are also accepted. The service has also retained its existing clinical leadership, with Dr Valentine continuing to carry out consultations and procedures following the move.

Dr Valentine Has Worked In Brisbane Since 2008
Dr Valentine completed his medical degree at the University of Adelaide in 2000 before undertaking an internship and residency at the Royal Adelaide Hospital. He later spent five years working full-time as a Medical Officer with the Royal Australian Air Force. His work included overseas deployments and the coordination and conduct of aeromedical retrievals in Australia and overseas.
Dr Valentine is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and holds the position of Designated Aviation Medical Examiner with the Civil Aviation Safety Authority. He began performing vasectomies in Brisbane in 2008 after initially training in the traditional technique with Dr Greg Silver. He later undertook further training in the United States in the no-scalpel vasectomy technique.
According to Vasectomy Clinic Brisbane, Dr Valentine has performed more than 17,000 vasectomies. He currently performs procedures across metropolitan Brisbane, regional Queensland, the Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast, as well as Canberra, Perth, Darwin, regional New South Wales and regional Victoria.
Vasectomy Clinic Brisbane is now based at Shop 1, 183 Given Terrace, Paddington, with its former The Gap location no longer serving as the practice’s primary Brisbane clinic.
