Kettle & Tin Has Served It Last Cuppa, Locals Saddened by Its Sudden Closure

Kettle & Tin has finally closed its doors as shocked locals expressed sadness at the sudden closure of the beloved cafe.



Sadly, another business bit the dust. Kettle & Tin on Given Terrace in Paddington finally closed its doors on 22 January 2023. The shocking news was announced via social media by Paddington Then and Now.

“Sadly, just this week we learned that our good friend Santiago will be closing his restaurant Kettle and Tin on Given Tce. It’s heartbreaking to know that a business you’ve put so much effort into just cannot continue. 💔,” Paddington Then and Now’s social media post reads.

Established in 2012, Kettle & Tin has served customers with a wide array of delicious breakfast and lunch dishes along with great coffee and other refreshing beverages.

Many customer reviews also praised the venue for its comfortable, relaxed, and homely atmosphere as well the helpful and friendly staff.

Another social media user, Kim Craig Skubris also shared with the group some photos of the venue’s last day with its loyal customers. 

“‘Kettle & Tin’ was Santiago Chiesa’s dream… and thanks to his contagious, positive energy this Paddington cafe became a favourite for locals,” Kim wrote.

She added that despite the great things that locals have loved about the cafe, these were not enough to guarantee recovery from the Covid lockdown.
