Paddington Dog Parlour Offers Fitness Training with Pets

After opening The Dog Boutique in November 2016, Melly Frost is expanding services to engage pet owners in personal training.

Ms Frost thought of starting the fitness program for pets and their humans after obtaining her Diploma of Fitness. Under the program, pet owners will do the running with the dogs. Ms Frost takes dogs running as part of the services of The Dog Boutique, but she found a great opportunity for pet owners to get fit as well.

Ms Frost would set up personal training sessions with pet owners, but would have the dog do it with them.

The Dog Boutique business is an expansion of her pet grooming business, Grubby Paws Dog Grooming, which specialises in mobile hydrobaths for dogs. Ms Frost opened Grubby Paws in 2003 and since then, her business has been providing pampering services for pets.

With The Dog Boutique, she took pet grooming to the next level, offering doggie bedroom waiting rooms instead of cages, while the pampered canines wait for their hydrobaths with essential oils or for other premier services that the boutique offers.

The Dog Boutique is located at 52 Elizabeth St, Paddington.

Violinist’s Paddington Home Sold for $835,000; Proceeds Going to Charity

The home of a virtuoso violinist and architect in Paddington has sold for $835,000, and all the proceeds of the sale will go to charity.

Violinist Moshlo Shaw, who died in 2015, requested in his will that all proceeds of the auction be given to Doctors without Borders (Medecins Sans Frontieres), a globally renowned humanitarian medical aid organisation. He was known to be a compassionate human being, so the request did not come as a surprise. Moshlo arrived in Australia with his family when he was still a kid seeking refuge from World War II.

The 81 Tooth Avenue house is a 4-bedroom property with large verandas, French doors and a large dance studio, which Moshlo built due to his passion for tango.

The property was marketed as a gracious colonial home and is considered to be a bargain, considering its size and amenities. The auction price was also lower than the $964,500 median house price in Paddington.

Iconic Kookaburra Cafe moving to join forces with Club Sosay

Paddington’s landmark Kookaburra Café has relocated to a new location to combine forces with Club Sosay.

This came after the popular Brisbane restaurant was bought by Patrick Vines, the café’s former chef and manager for 34 years. The restaurant is now called Club Sosay Kookaburra Café and combines the restaurant’s famous pizza, pasta and burgers along with the snack menu and bar services of Club Sosay.

After 35 years of serving the largest party pizza in the country, Kookaburra Café has closed its old location, which will be occupied by the hardware store next door. The new restaurant and bar is now located across the street at 2 Latrobe Terrace corner Given Terrace.

More Fun, Expanded Menu

The new venture promises more fun to regular and new customers as they can now play board games while enjoying signature dishes from Kookaburra and drinks from the expanded bar of Club Sosay. With its bigger bar, Club Sosay Kookaburra Café now offers more drinks, wine specials and a broader selection of cocktails.
